In this week-long course you will learn about motivation, its different components and how they affect everything from wellbeing to performance. Comprising of short webinar-style tutorials and accompanying worksheets, the course will help you understand how to cultivate more positive forms of motivation, especially for subjects that you feel less motivated towards, and how to keep engaging in dance in the long-term in a healthy and productive way.

The course comprises 4 videos with over 40 minutes of content introducing you to the theoretical foundations of motivation and evidence-based strategies ideas. There are 4 worksheets (totalling 9 pages) which can you edit or print and complete again and again. Topics covered in the course include:

  • Understanding motivation and how it differs according to context

  • Different types of motivation

  • Enhancing the three basic psychological needs to facilitate healthy motivation

  • ‘If-then’ planning

  • Achievement goal theory and how to focus on your own goals rather than comparison with others

  • Motivational self-talk

This course works brilliantly as a stand-alone but is also a great foundation for the other two courses in this section.
